Jim Lewis's Astro*Carto*Graphy (1970s), with earlier geodetic and local-space antecedents
Jim Lewis mapped the lines where each planet is angular — rising, setting, culminating — across the Earth, and marketed it in the 1970s as Astro*Carto*Graphy (a registered trademark; the generic technique is astrocartography or planetary lines). It has older cousins: Sepharial's Theory of Geodetic Equivalents (1925) and the local-space method Michael Erlewine published in 1977.
What it measures
For each planet, the meridians and curves on the globe where it sits exactly on one of the four angles at the birth moment — plus the relocated chart, which recomputes the houses for a different place while keeping the same instant.
