Argentina (Declaration of Independence) — birth chart across three traditions
Born: 1816-07-09 (time unknown) · San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina
Data source: Rodden X (no recorded time). The encyclopedic article on the declaration gives no hour for the session or the signing; popular accounts of a nine-hour debate do not fix a start time from any cited record.
The Congress of Tucumán, meeting in the house of Francisca Bazán de Laguna, declared the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata free of the Spanish crown. Nine July was chosen over 25 May 1810, the May Revolution that created the First Junta in Buenos Aires and is also a national holiday, because 9 July is the formal declaration of independence and the day Argentina keeps as its Día de la Independencia. Note the event happened in Tucumán, not Buenos Aires, so the chart is cast there. Houses are undetermined.
