Colombia (Cry of Independence) — birth chart across three traditions
Born: 1810-07-20 (time unknown) · Bogotá, Colombia
Data source: Rodden X (no recorded time). The encyclopedic account places the flower-vase incident and the junta's creation on the morning of 20 July 1810 but states no clock hour for either.
A junta was formed in Santa Fe de Bogotá after the confrontation over Llorente's flower vase, and Colombia recognises this as its independence day. It was chosen over 7 August 1819, the Battle of Boyacá that actually secured independence and is a separate holiday, and over 11 November 1811, when Cartagena declared absolute independence. Historians still debate which of these is the true founding moment, and the 1810 junta initially professed loyalty to the deposed Ferdinand VII. Houses are undetermined in this chart.
