An Indian mathematical research institute's Ramanujan archive reproduces his traditional natal horoscope, giving nine seconds past 6.00 p.m. on 22 December 1887 at Erode, but does not state where that figure came from, so the rating is C rather than AA. A standard biography independently places the birth just after sunset, which is consistent.

Self-taught mathematician known for results on infinite series, partitions and continued fractions. The chart is cast on the standard the Madras Presidency actually kept in 1887, decades before Indian Standard Time; reading the recorded hour as Erode's own local time instead would move the chart 18 minutes, and both readings leave the birth just after sunset, which is what the biography says.
