Pisces ends the zodiac as winter dissolves toward the equinox: mutable water, the year's boundaries going soft before the new start. Traditional rulership belongs to Jupiter — breadth turned inward as compassion — and the moderns added Neptune for the oceanic register: imagination, longing, the erasing of edges. Venus is exalted here; the tradition's claim is that love stands highest where it stops keeping score.
